Ever heard a Latin beat blasting from a club or restaurant and wished you could join the fun? Learn to step, shimmy and swing your hips to the hottest salsa, merengue and rumba beats in town!
If you are just beginning or looking to polish your Latin style, then LGBTQ Club Latin Dance at the Washington DCJCC is the class for you.
The class will cover rhythm, movement, lead-follow and choreography—concepts applicable to dancers of all levels, from social to competitive. Take your inner Latin hips out in to the open and up to the next level in a fun and friendly LGBTQ setting.
The class will have four sessions. The week after the last class the teacher will take the whole group to a salsa club in Adams Morgan on a Thursday or a Saturday (the class will decide which day) so you can use your newly-acquired dance skills in a fun, social setting with the whole group of LGBTQ dancers!
Dancers of all genders, couples, and (of course) single dancers from any dance background or skill level are invited to join the summer LGBTQ Club Latin Dance with Rachel Antonoff.
Rachel Antonoff is a competitive Latin dancer with over four years of dance experience. She teaches Latin dancing at the University of Maryland for the competition team and competes all over the east coast. She has placed at regional competitions, including second at the most recent USA Dance Southeast Regionals. She began dancing in her first year of college, and she loves showing people that dancers can begin at any age to have fun on the dance floor.
