Urban Gardening with the GroW Garden |
Join the EDCJCC for an evening of gardening! PROJECT: What better way to address food insecurity than helping GW's GroW Community Garden produce fresh fruits and veggies for Miriam's Kitchen? The GroW Community Garden is a block-length plot of land supported by the George Washington University. Produce from the garden is donated to Miriam's Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that aims to end chronic homelessness in Washington DC. Come out to help with basic gardening tasks needed to keep the garden successful! Stay for a few minutes after to have snacks and get to know each other. WHEN: Sunday, July 10, from 5:00 - 6:30 PM WHO: This program is open to children of all ages but children under age 12 must have adult supervision at all times. WHERE: The garden is located in Foggy Bottom. Exact address will be provided with registration. REGISTRATION: Registration is free but you must register in advance to ensure that we do not over-crowd the garden. Spots are limited so grab yours today! Do you need any additional accommodations for this event? If so, please contact Mira at msmith@edcjcc.org
