Capital Pride Volunteer Project with Casa Ruby
WHAT: It has been a tough year for our entire community, but particularly for LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness and the organizations that work tirelessly to serve their needs. Homeless youth have experienced a lot of social isolation, layoffs and lack of employment, and other challenges related to being unhoused. Help us create care packages for staff and clients at Casa Ruby.
We need folks to bake sweet treats and create trail mix at home, to be delivered to the EDCJCC, as well as a small group of volunteers to help us assemble the care packages on site at the EDCJCC.
We will be adding toiletries and other small items to each care package. Staff at Casa Ruby will receive thank-you packages, and clients will receive regular care packages.
More information, including baking guidelines and trail-mix instructions, will be provided upon registration.
WHEN: Drop off all items at the Edlavitch DCJCC on Sunday, June 20, 2021 between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM .
REGISTRATION: Please note that we request a $5 fully tax-deductible registration fee per person to help us cover the costs of the rest of the care packages. To register for one of these projects and learn more, please click on the "Sign Me Up!" button and it will take you to a list of ticket options you can click on.
