Everything But The Turkey - PJ Library Edition 2018
This Thanksgiving, show your kids the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world) by working together to help those facing hunger and homelessness in our community. Join PJ Library and The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington at the Edlavitch DCJCC’s annual Everything But The Turkey (EBTT).
Come for a morning of making healthy snack bags, creating a gift for families transitioning out of homelessness, and learning during story time. Our activities will connect your children to the Jewish values of gratitude and giving back. The items we make will be donated through DC Central Kitchen.
We request a $20 per family registration fee to help offset the cost of food and supplies. Please also bring a canned good (preferably beans) for every child to make into a fantastic turkey centerpiece. This program is intended for children ages 3+ but everyone is welcome. Please note: we will be using products that contain gluten, raisins, and dairy. No nut products will be used.
Pre-registration is required for this program, and we expect it to fill up quickly! Click on the "Sign Me Up!" button to continue to registration.
Questions? Contact Sonya Weisburd at email@example.com.
EBTT is the Edlavitch DCJCC's annual event where volunteers prepare Thanksgiving-themed side dishes that help those experiencing hunger and homelessness in the District enjoy some Thanksgiving warmth and cheer the week of the Thanksgiving holiday. Learn more about Everything But The Turkey.
PJ Library (PJ, as in “pajamas”) is a program for Jewish and interfaith families with young children, brought to you locally by The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. In partnership with Federation’s Doing Good social action initiative, PJ Library hosts service projects to teach young children the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world) through hands-on opportunities to give back.
