This workshop will address what interfaith families can do to make Judaism relevant for themselves and their children, and to help their children develop a strong Jewish identity, while at the same time being respectful to the partner with another religion. Join Dr. Marion Usher, an interfaith family expert, to navigate this complicated process, get concrete ideas and strategies, and address about your concerns.
About the Facilitator:
Dr. Marion Usher is the creator of “Love and Religion: An Interfaith Workshop for Jews and Their Partners.” With her cohort of over 600 couples, she explores the issues interfaith couples need to address as they co-create the religious life of their new family. Her workshop is now being conducted in 10 cities across the United States and Canada. Her DVD and manual illustrating her workshop model premiered at the Washington DCJCC Film Festival in 2009.
Additionally, she consults with synagogues, and JCCs to help them develop creative programming for interfaith couples and families, and she blogs on issues related to interfaith marriage on her website, www.JewishInterfaithCouples.com. Her articles have appeared in The Jewish Week, Sh’ma, The Washington Post, The Washingtonian and On Faith.
