Shavuot is about learning and discovery, but for many of us – especially LGBT folks – there’s often a lot we didn’t discover because school sex ed was pretty limited about what “sex” meant... if there was any school sex ed at all. And as adults, our romantic and sexual lives have progressed beyond anything we learned back then.

In this fun session on safer sex and pleasure, expert Liore Klein will share all the things we should totally know (but probably don't), answer audience questions (submitted in advance or on the fly), and explain the most common things that people mess up!

Jewish values tell us to care for the health of our community, and that saving a life means we save the whole world - and having fantastic safer sex does exactly that. So come learn, and finally play with the things they never brought to health class!

ALL - all bodies, all sexualities - are welcome!

Submit your questions (or "your friend's" questions) anonymously, before the event:

Questions can be anything, including:

  • How much sex are people really having?
  • What type of condoms break with flavored lube? Oil-based lube?
  • Consent conversations just seem like such mood killers... Tips?
  • Is it weird that I ________?
  • Do I really need to get tested if I always use protection?
Do I really need to get tested if (as a woman) I only sleep with women?
Do I really need to get tested if he never comes inside?
  • What's the deal with dental dams?
What's the deal with finger cots?
    What's the deal with shaving?
  • I've heard _____ is supposed to feel good, but it doesn't; is that weird?
  • Am I supposed to put a condom on my toys?

epdc logoThis Safer Sex session is part of After Dark, EntryPointDC's Shavuot Study Night event. The Shavuot holiday is often observed with all-night study sessions, so we're making it a fun, late night... and you can still be up for work or school the next day.

You're welcome (and encouraged) to pick and choose from the full night's range of topics. (See the FULL LINE-UP of sessions at After Dark)

From EPDC: "Join us for After Dark, our version of a Shavuot experience for young professionals (20s-30s), featuring delicious desserts, engaging conversations, and great people! We’ll have traditional Shavuot treats (think ice cream sundaes and cheesecake) on hand to keep you going and plenty of time to make new friends."
