GLOE Youth & Family presents:
LGBT Life Planning Series
LGBT Family Building
adoption, insemination and beyond
Sunday, July 29, 2012
Washington DCJCC - Library (1st floor)
($5 Suggested Donation to support LGBT Jewish programming)
Join GLOE Youth & Family for the third event in our LGBT Life Planning Series, focusing on Family Building! The Series gathers experts to help navigate the unique issues and laws that LGBT people encounter at various stages of life, with information specific to the DC-MD-VA area.
In our Family
Building session, we’ll
discuss the variety of current options available to LGBT families interested in having
(or having more) children. Experts will help us explore possibilities with
foster care kids, surrogacy options, fertility issues, as well as adoption and
legal topics. We'll also discuss support for LGBT people interested in parenting.
Bring your questions—following the panel, you'll get to speak with our experts individually!
Surrogacy: Sandra Lippard, Founder - Family Forward Surrogacy
Foster Care: Susan Punnett, Executive Director - DC Family & Youth Initiative
Legal Topics: Michele Zavos, Partner - Zavos Juncker Law Group, PLLC
Legal Topics: Susan Silber, Esq., Partner - Silber, Perlman, Sigman & Tilev, PA
Medical Protocols: Dr. Rani Abbasi, MD, RE - Columbia Fertility Associates
Presented in partnership by the J's Early Childhood, Youth & Family; and GLOE - GLBT Outreach & Engagement
*PLEASE NOTE: This event falls on Tisha B'Av, one of the holidays that it is DCJCC policy to recognize, but still remain open. As this is an educational event, some observant members also see this as study, and therefore find it acceptible to take part, which is a personal decision. We understand that this date may prevent some people from attending and we apologize.
As Tisha B'Av is a fast day for those who observe, there will be no refreshments served at this event. If you have further questions or comments, please contact GLOE Director, Halley Cohen at 202-777-3253 or email@example.com.
