The G-d Project is coming to DC to find out what YOU think about G-d and Jewish spirituality for our online documentary and website. Be part of an event that will showcase the diversity of the Jewish community, inspire and engage.
WHAT IT IS:
Inspired by NPR's This American Life and the TED Talks, The G-d Project wants to feature Jews from the DC area giving our ideas and feelings about G-d, spirituality, and Jewish continuity.
The G-d Project is made up of micro-documentaries showcasing profiles of unique Jewish personalities around the world (the famous, the infamous, the unknown, rabbis and scholars, adults and children, LGBT and straight, all ages, Reform, Conservative, Orthodox and everything in between) giving their views on G-d and Judaism.
These videos are linked together through our Kabbalah-inspired social network tags, revealing an awesome secret: a Hassidic Jew in Crown Heights has just as much spiritually in common as an atheist in Omaha.
Register for a 5-minute session to tell us your thoughts.
You are welcome to share anything around this topic, but here are some helpful topics to get you thinking:
- Do you believe in G-d? Why or why not?
- How do you live your Jewish life? What does Jewish spirituality mean to you?
- Do you remember a time when you felt the presence of G-d? Or the absence of G-d?
- Do you identify with a particular movement in Judaism?
- Does G-d matter in Jewish identity?
- If you could be G-d for a day, what would you do?
- Anything else you would like to say?
THE ONLY GUIDELINES:
We want everyone to feel free to share their beliefs and understanding about G-d, no matter what they may be. This is a family friendly site, so please refrain from using foul language or language that may be considered hurtful by those who may not share your beliefs.
Co-sponsored by GLOE (GLBT Outreach & Engagement), EntryPointDC, and Jewish Living and Learning at the DCJCC.
The G-D Project at the DCJCC is proudly presented in co-sponsorship with Sixth and I.
In partnership with Congregation Bet Mishpachah.
The G-d Project is sponsored by the Jewish New Media Innovation Fund and is being produced by the creative team at PunkTorah, a 501(c)(3) Jewish non-profit dedicated to independent Jewish spirituality, culture, learning and debate through the use of web-based multimedia.
