ENTRY GUIDELINES
Each year, the Washington Jewish Film Festival brings to the nation's capital films that explore and present the great diversity and universality of the Jewish experience. Presented by the Washington DCJCC's Morris Cafritz Center for the Arts, the WJFF is one of the largest Jewish film festivals, showcasing independent work by new and award-winning filmmakers from the US, Israel and around the world.
Eligibility

WJFF is open to all US and international filmmakers submitting entries with Jewish content.

Preview screeners must be DVD format only.

Submission must agree to be at least a DC premiere (no prior screenings in area or TV broadcasts)

Priority is given to new and recent work.

English language or clearly legible English subtitles are required.

Submission does not in any way guarantee exhibition in the Festival.
Fees
-
$60 for films 30 minutes or longer (including credits)

$30 for films less than 30 minutes (including credits)

No entry fee for international submissions.

No entry fee for students. Students must submit a legible copy of their current student ID with their preview DVD and entry form.
Submission Materials
All submissions must include the DVD screener AND copy of the
completed on-line entry form (including record of payment) to be
considered. Please include a synopsis and any other materials that help tell the story of your film.
Deadline
Rolling submission policy. No deadline, though films receved
after August 15, 2012 may not enter into consideration for WJFF 2013. Earlier submission strongly encouraged.
Rough Cuts
WJFF accepts rough cuts of nearly completed films with an expected completion date of October 1, 2012, or earlier.
Screening Formats
The WJFF screens work in 35mm, Beta-SP NTSC, digi-Beta and, by prior arrangement, Blu-ray. If Beta-SP PAL is submitted for exhibition, the Festival will make an NTSC copy at the filmmaker's or distributor’s expense. Some Festival venues are in the process of acquiring DCP. DVD copies are used only for back-up in the case of technical difficulties.
Shipping Previews and Screeners
Please label your DVD, film and/or tape with the title, director’s name, shipper’s name (if different from the director’s) and shipper’s address. Submit all materials to:

All shipping costs for entries submitted for consideration must be paid by the sender. When shipping materials internationally, please be sure to clearly state on the outside of the package that its contents are “FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY. NO COMMERCIAL VALUE.”
Preview DVDs and other materials submitted will be returned only by request after January 15, 2013 and must include the appropriate SASE or packaging at the time the materials are submitted to the Festival.
