The Edlavitch JCC offers five levels of conversational Hebrew, from learning the aleph bet to reading advanced literature. Our teacher is a native Hebrew speaker with many years of teaching experience. She regularly tweaks her classes to fit the needs and interests of her students.
Classes are offered Monday and Wednesday evenings in 12-week sessions. Each class is one hour.
Levels 1, 2, 3 and Intermediate require the textbook Hebrew From Scratch (Part 1)- you can purchase a new copy of the textbook at the time of registration.
Mondays and Wednesdays, June 12 - August 30
Level 1: Mondays, 6:30pm-7:30pm
Level 2: Mondays, 7:30pm-8:30pm
Level 3: Wednesdays, 6:00pm-7:00pm
Intermediate: Wednesdays, 7:00pm-8:00pm
Advanced: Wednesdays, 8:00pm-9:00pm

Beginners! This is the class for you if you need to learn the aleph bet (Hebrew alphabet) and start building your vocabulary. Students with a basic knowledge of the aleph bet but very little or no vocabulary or grammar experience should sign up for this level as well.
Students who have completed Level 1 OR know the aleph bet, can read, and have started to gather vocabulary and grammar.
Students who have completed Level 2 OR have some vocabulary and a grasp of grammar
This level focuses on building vocabulary, improving reading, and conducting conversation in present tense. It introduces verb conjugation the future and even the past tense.
Ready to challenge your Hebrew skills? In this student-driven class you may start reading the works of well-known Israeli authors in the original Hebrew or talk current events and politics.
