The DCJCC offers five levels of conversational Hebrew, from learning the aleph bet to reading advanced literature. Our teachers Naomi and Lorit are native Hebrew speakers with many years of teaching experience. They regularly tweak their classes to fit the needs and interests of thier students.

Classes are offered Wednesday evenings in eight-week sessions. Each class is one hour. Levels 1, 2, 3 and Intermediate require the textbook Hebrew From Scratch (Part 1)- you can purchase a new copy of either textbook at the time of registration.


This session: 
Wednesdays, November 4- December 30
no class November 25, the night before Thanksgiving
Level 1: 6pm-7pm 
Level 2: 7pm-8m 
Level 3: 8pm-9pm 
Intermediate: 6pm-7pm
Literature: 7pm-8pm

Level 1
Beginners! This is the class for you if you need to learn the aleph bet (Hebrew alphabet) and start building your vocabulary
6:00pm - 7:00pm    
Teacher: Naomi McNally

Level 2
Students who have completed Level 1 OR know the aleph bet and can read but have a little vocabulary
7:00pm - 8:00pm
Teacher: Naomi McNally

Level 3
Students who have completed Level 2 OR have a limited vocabulary and a basic grasp of grammar
8:00pm - 9:00pm
Teacher: Naomi McNally

Intermediate
This level focuses on building vocabulary, improving reading, and conducting conversation in present tense. It introduces verb conjugation the future and even the past tense. Soon you'll be conversing comfortably in all three!
6:30pm - 7:30pm
Teacher: Lorit Chai

Israeli Authors in Hebrew

You're ready for the deep end! In this class we will be starting to read and discuss modern and classic Israeli literature. To learn more and register for this class go here.
7:30pm - 8:30pm

Still not sure which level you are? Get in touch and we'll help you out!
If you only know the aleph bet you may want to take Level 1 to start building vocabulary and get a good review of the letters. Level 2 is possible, but it may be a challenge
