A new term has popped up on dating apps that has some people dismayed, others confused, and some totally psyched. ENM, or ethical non-monogamy, is not a new concept, but has been getting more air-time (Transparent, Girls, Orange Is the New Black) and is becoming more mainstream. Join Rabbi Eliana Fischel from Washington Hebrew Congregation and sex therapist Dr. Kristen Conklin Flank in a conversation about what ethical non-monogamy is and if/how it could be Jewish and a Q&A session.

This event will be taking place virtually!

About Our Speakers:

eliana-fischel-new-headshot.jpegRabbi Eliana Fischel was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2018. While studying at HUC-JIR, she served as the rabbinic intern for Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, New York. Rabbi Fischel's rabbinic thesis "How Open is Our Tent? Polyamorous Relationships in the Jewish Context" is one of the first research projects to dive into the world of ethical non-monogamy and Judaism. She was selected to be in the first cohort of the Roswell K’lal Yisrael Fellowship, an international leadership training program for young Jewish leaders. Rabbi Fischel was also a Bonnie and Daniel Tisch Rabbinic Fellow, part of a highly-selective program that promotes innovative synagogue leadership. Rabbi Fischel has publications in The Reform Jewish Quarterly and Inscribed: Encounters with the Ten Commandments.
