Refresh: An Interactive Self Care & Mindfulness Workshop
Get ready for an interactive evening of guided reflection, self-care activities, and an Ask Me Anything session with an expert. Step outside with your earbuds in and enjoy nature as you learn about mindfulness and participate in a mini meditation exercise, grab your favorite pen or colored pencils and release stress with a doodling activity that will ground you in the present, and get the answers you need regarding mental health during our anonymous Q & A with a certified therapist. 

 

About Our Workshop Speakers:

Beca Berman 1.jpgRebecca Berman, LCSW-C, CEDS, MLSP, is the Clinical Supervisor at The Renfrew Center of Bethesda and Training Coordinator for The Renfrew Center. She specializes in treating eating disorders, self-injurious behavior and trauma. Rebecca holds two graduate degrees from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, one in Clinical Social Work and one in Law and Social Policy. She also maintains a private practice in Arlington, VA. Rebecca was born and raised in Northern Virginia and is part of a large Jewish family of 70 that enjoys traditions, celebrations, and the Washington Redskins. She enjoys dancing on bikes at Soulcycle, blowing glass, and seeing live music.

thumbnail_image0.jpgAviva Joffe  was raised in Long Island, New York and moved to Maryland in 2014 for a career in government. She has been passionately practicing yoga for 20 years, and made the transition to become a Mindfulness Meditation teacher in 2016, and a 200 hour certified yoga teacher in 2019. Her passion for helping others has always been a big part of who she is, which is what motivated her to complete a Master’s Degree in General Psychology in 2010.  Within the past few years, she has completed a sound healing certification and obtained her Reiki Level 1 certification.  Aviva’s goal is to create an environment of support and togetherness by practicing mindfulness through yoga and meditation practices. She currently manages her own wellness business called, 4ever We R Mindful and offers private and group meditation and yoga services.

By night she listens to the Great British Baking Show or an inspirational Jewish lecture while doodling/drawing food or jewish art. Miriam calls her evening activity "art therapy" and invites friends to join her during her sessions (during COVID-19 virtually).
