High Challah Day Baking, Tasting and Giving
Join the DCJCC and Jewish Food Experience for an afternoon of mixing, braiding and baking challah for a good cause. Discover challah’s ancient roots, its symbolism and its role in the High Holy Days. Sample freshly baked challah with a variety of honeys and sweet and savory compound butters. All challahs prepared during the workshop will be donated to Miriam’s Kitchen.
Instructor: Leah Hadad, Founder and President, Tribes-a-Dozen.
Leah is a self-taught baker and cook who delights friends and family with her traditional recipes skillfully and lovingly adapted for the modern day home cook. She’s developed a signature product, Violà! Hallah, a natural challah bread mix available in three varieties.
Registration is $15.00 per person. In addition to sampling a variety of challot and homemade spreads and having one challah donated to Miriam’s Kitchen, each participant departs the class with one box of Violà! Hallah, to easily prepare at home.
