GLOE Youth & Family Tashlich Picnic at Rock Creek Park
Sunday, September 28, 2014 Rock Creek Park SITE: Picnic Site #6 (Miller's Cabin) Tickets: FREE All ages
Join GLOE Youth & Family to celebrate the New Year with other LGBT individuals, couples, teens, kids and families! We'll gather in Rock Creek Park for a casual afternoon of community, games and tashlich. Tashlich, which means "casting off" in Hebrew, is the High Holiday tradition of tossing bread crumbs into a flowing body of water, casting off the negatives of the past year and giving us a chance to reflect on our hopes for ourselves and families in the coming year. In addition to plenty of games, we're thrilled to have a new rabbi leading us in fun holiday-related activities. After the activity (for those who would like to participate), she'll lead us in casting our crumbs into Rock Creek, and together, we'll envision a sweet new year! If you'd like, please bring a picnic lunch and blanket for yourself, and we’ll provide everything else, including (kosher) dessert and challah, games and lots of ruach/spirit!
