Selected Shorts is a weekly public radio show broadcast on more than 150 stations around the country. It is produced by Symphony Space and distributed by Public Radio International. The radio show began in 1985 at Symphony Space on Broadway and 95th Street in New York City and enjoys sold-out performances to this day. The Selected Shorts podcast consistently ranks as one of the most popular podcasts on iTunes, with more than 100,000 downloads every week.

James Naughton, photo credit Nick Cardillicchio James Naughton has won Tony Awards as Best Actor in a Musical for City of Angels and Chicago. On Broadway, he directed the Tony-nominated production of Arthur Miller's The Price and Thornton Wilder's Our Town, starring Paul Newman. He also directed the television production of Our Town for Showtime and Masterpiece Theatre. His film and television credits include The Devil Wears Prada, Damages, Gossip Girl, Ally McBeal, Planet of the Apes, Hostages, The Blacklist, and The Affair. Photo credit Nick Cardillicchio
Holly Twyford Holly Twyford is an actress and director in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. She is a four-time Helen Hayes Award recipient for her performances in Romeo and Juliet and The Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Folger Shakespeare Library, The Shape of Things at Studio Theatre, and The Little Dog Laughed at the Signature Theatre. Additionally, she was honored with the Shakespeare Theatre Company's Emery Battis Award for Acting Excellence, and is a Lunt-Fontanne Fellow as well as a charter member of the Studio Cabinet. She has appeared in several independent films, including John Waters’ Pecker, and on the small screen in Homicide: Life on the Street and House of Cards. Ms. Twyford has directed productions at Adventure Theatre, the Studio Theatre’s 2ndStage, Factory 449, and No Rules Theatre Company. Most recently, Twyford appeared as Martha in the acclaimed production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the Ford’s Theatre.
Michael Urie Michael Urie starred in the Off-Broadway one-man show Buyer & Cellar, for which he received the Lucille Lortel, Drama Desk, LA Theatre Critics, and the Clarence Derwent Awards, and in The Temperamentals, for which he received the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. Additional stage credits include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Cherry Orchard, Angels in America, and Shows for Days. On screen, he played Marc St. James on Ugly Betty, and has appeared on Modern Family, Partners, The Good Wife, Hot in Cleveland, Younger, and Workaholics. Urie co-directed the documentary Thank You for Judging and directed the film He’s Way More Famous Than You, the Web series What’s Your Emergency, and most recently, Bright Colors and Bold Patterns at the Barrow Street Theater.
