with Girls In Trouble

9:00 pm | Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater

Golem (WJMF 2002) is the Eastern European folk-punk band sensation known for electrifying dance floors with their globetrotting goulash of Jewish, Slavic and Gypsy folk songs. Known for their chaotic behavior live, singer/accordionist Annette Ezekiel-Kogan, vocalist/tambourinist Aaron Diskin, Alicia Jo Rabins, trombonist Curtis Hasselbring, upright bassist Taylor Bergren-Chrisman, and Tim Monaghan have fans dancing to the same boisterous beats that their Eastern European grandparents danced to over a century ago.
“A Gypsy-punk gem!”SPINO-LMD-listen

O-LMD-AliciaFounding member of Girls In Trouble and violin virtuoso Alicia Jo Rabins was haunted and moved by the sex, violence and twisted HBO-worthy drama in the Bible. Combining her lyrics with the musical stylings of upright bassist Aaron Hartman, Elaina Morgan on guitar and glockenspiel, and accordionist Jonathon Vincent, Rabins blends mysticism, ancient women's tales, poetry and a looping pedal to make beautiful songs about love and leprosy she calls post-Biblical art pop.
