American historian and author Howard M. Sachar will address the historic and agonizing dilemma of reconciling small-state security with Great Power diplomacy. Howard M. Sachar is the Professor Emeritus of Modern History at The George Washington University and has been a lecturer on Middle Eastern affairs for the United States Foreign Service Institute. He has served as a visiting professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University and The Johns Hopkins University. His books include A History of the Jews in America, The Emergence of the Middle East 1914-1924, A History of Israel: From the Rise of Zionism to Our Time and countless others.
