Ever seen friends wearing a knitted scarf, hat, or sweater and been jealous of the smug look on their face when they inform you, “I made this myself?” Learn to stitch your own knitted accessories and get right back at them!
Whether you’ve never touched a knitting needle or you’re an expert looking to pick up some new techniques, then the GLOE Stitch ‘n’ Kvetch class is for you.
The class will cover knit, purl, cast-on, cast-off, and color rotation, as well as tips for picking out needles and yarns and following a pattern, among other topics, with cabling instruction provided for more advanced students. Let your inner craftsperson come out to play in a fun and friendly LGBTQ setting!
Stitchers of all genders, relationship statuses, orientations, backgrounds, and skill levels are invited to attend the first-ever GLOE Stitch ‘N’ Kvetch class! Make your own scarf or hat just in time for winter.
Rachel Antonoff started knitting over twelve years ago, and she began teaching knitting, crochet, and needlework in 2004. She enjoys knitting everything from simple scarves and potholders to more complex cabling and Fair Isle knitting. She taught professionally at Michaels Crafts and at local synagogues in Atlanta before moving to DC, and now she looks forward to getting GLOE and other DC locals stitchin’ and kvetchin’ along with her!
