I Have a Little Dreidel: An LGBTQ Family Chanukah Celebration
GLOE Youth & Family and Rainbow Families present
I Have a Little
An LGBTQ Family Chanukah Celebration
Sunday, December 17, 2017 | 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Location: Edlavitch DCJCC (1529 16th Street NW in Logan Circle)
Cost: $15 per family
Ages: Best for 3-10, but all are welcome
You know the song, now make it real! Join other LGBTQ families to decorate dreidels (or menorahs)!
Children and their parents/adult family and friends are invited to sing the tunes as you create, reminding us all of the miracle of lights, the fun games, and the joy this holiday season brings.
Come for an exploratory event celebrating the Chanukah miracle through fun and games! Children and adults will have opportunities to personalize a driedel or menorah, and just play.
Plus, adults can connect with other LGBTQ families.
(Your dreidel will be “dry and ready” in plenty of time for spinning during Chanukah!)
All are welcome!
Presented in partnership with Rainbow Families, the DC area’s largest network of LGBTQ-parented families, and GLOE Youth & Family — an initiative of GLOE - The Kurlander Program for GLBTQ Outreach and Engagement at the Edlavitch DCJCC.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- When is Chanukah exactly?
This year, Chanukah is December 12 through 20.
This event is best for kids ages 3-10, but all are welcome.
Because of the exploratory nature of the event, there will be ways the littlest ones can participate, as well as fun things for the bigger kids (as well as the adults!).
- Do I have to come back to pick up my creation?
Nope! Your creations will be ready to take home with you the same day.
- What should we wear?
While it shouldn't be too messy, please wear washable clothes you don't mind getting dirty!
- How can I share this fun event with everyone?
