Affordable Housing: A Crisis in DC
Did you know that DC has the 6th highest rent rates in the country? On average, a one-bedroom apartment now costs $2100 a month, making the cost to live in the District prohibitive to many people, and certainly for most low-income workers.
The city's affordable housing options have also steadily decreased, pushing people who have historically lived in the city for generations farther and farther out of its limits. Most people working minimum wage pay more than 50% of their income for housing.
Join the Edlavitch DCJCC to learn how we can fight for more affordable housing in the District and make change with Jews United for Justice and AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps.
A vegetarian dinner will be served.
We request a $5 donation to help cover the costs of the program. If this is in any way a hardship please email Sonya.
In partnership with Jews United for Justice and AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps.
