Instructor: Veronica Grant
Veronica
came to her yoga mat after years of teaching fitness classes with increasingly
achy joints, muscles, and a stressed mind. Her sequences are strong, yet keeps a light-hearted mood with her
students. She is also always seeking creative and engaging ways to make
Judaism relevant in her life; Yoga Body Jewish Mind
perfectly meshes her love of yoga and Jewish thought. Throughout the
course, Veronica will remind her students to use their breath to find strength,
grace, and compassion for themselves in their yoga practice - both on and off
the mat. Veronica is a RYT-200 with the Yoga Alliance and holds a Group
Fitness Instructor certification from the American Council on Exercise.
Yoga Body Jewish Mind Creator: Peggy Price
Peggy Price has
been teaching yoga, Pilates, and fitness classes since 2004. She
completed her 200 hour Yoga Alliance coursework at Peachtree Yoga
Center in Atlanta. Peggy has been passionate about Torah study since age six, and she has studied Tanach, Mishnah, Halacha, Jewish history, etc.
throughout her twelve years of Jewish day school, college, and
beyond. Yoga Body Jewish Mind was first developed as a series
for College of Charleston’s Jewish Studies Department in 2011 in order to
explore the physical practice and ethical principles of yoga through the lens
of Jewish values and Torah study. Peggy believes the process of chavruta
study challenges us to not only have a deeper connection to Judaism, but to
ourselves.
