One Foot In America

The Work of Eugeen Van Mieghem

September 22 - December 30, 2011

Lecture/Opening Reception:

Thursday, September 22, 2011

6 PM

Belgian artist Eugeen Van Mieghem (1875-1930) found inspiration in the men and women, many of them Jews, waiting at the Antwerp docks to board ships bound for New York City. His work creates a stunning visual record of those leaving behind one life in search of a better one in a far away and unknown place.
