A warm and charming romantic comedy, Keep the Change has a heart of gold, but a mouth that’s a touch on the dirty side.
The love story at its center features David, an upper-class charmer struggling to hide his high-functioning autism. Forced to attend Connections, a support group for people on the autism spectrum at JCC Manhattan, David falls in love with Sarah, a sheltered young woman who challenges his identity.
David and Sarah’s spark is charged by their opposite personas – he’s snobby, sarcastic and guarded, while she laughs, takes life as it comes, and embraces her disability.
Powered by outstanding individual performances and an assured directorial debut by Rachel Israel, Keep the Change won two major awards at the Tribeca Film Festival (Best American Narrative Feature, the Best New Narrative Director).
