Loosely inspired by Fiddler on the Roof, this play considers the question, "Is marriage good for women?" When 20 year old college student  Tzeitel surprises her overachieving, feminist mother and four sisters with the news she's engaged, everything they've ever believed about their choices comes into question. The women realize that if Tzeitel can abandon her feminist code, they can too. The truth about their careers, their relationships and their upbringing comes pouring out. Tzeitel's marriage threatens to tear the family apart, until the most unlikely of them offers solidarity.
