Activating Justice Through Theater

Online ticket sales for this event have now closed. We welcome you to come in and purchase a ticket at the door starting at 6:30 PM this evening through our box office.

What: Join the EDCJCC and Mosaic Theater for an evening of theater and conversation highlighting the themes of racial justice, American History, and community activism in Ifa Bayeza's epic The Till Trilogy, on the Mosaic Theater stage this fall. A series of plays reflecting on the life, death, and legacy of Emmett Till, whose murder in 1955 ignited the Civil Rights Movement, The Till Trilogy will offer audiences of all backgrounds an opportunity for collective reckoning, reflection, and response.

This special event will introduce you to the plays through a sneak peek of scenes from the show and remarks from playwright Ifa Bayeza and Mosaic Theater's Artistic Director Reginald L. Douglas.

Following the reading will be a panel discussion led by Amir Ali, Executive Director of MacArthur Justice Center, with panelists Judith Browne Dianis, Executive Director of the Advancement Project and Anita Gonzalez, Founding Director of Georgetown University’s Racial Justice Institute.

When: Wednesday, August 31, 7:00 PM

Where: The program will take place inside the EDCJCC located at 1529 16th Street NW.

Tickets: Tickets are $14. Click on the Sign Me Up! button to proceed to registration.
