Learning the Land: A Virtual Civil Rights Tour
About: Welcome to our four-part racial justice series, Amplifying Voices. As we seek to move ourselves both individually and collectively from non-racist to anti-racist beliefs and actions, we are witnessing a moment in history with the possibility for true change. Amplifying Voices marries internal t’shuva, personal pattern breaking, growth, and reckoning with a series of programs by artists and thought leaders inside and outside the Jewish community who will help us reflect on race, religion, and identity. We invite everyone, both Jewish and non-Jewish, into authentic and meaningful conversation designed to move the needle on how we all engage in the world with sensitivity and compassion. About T. Marie King: T. Marie King is an activist, facilitator, organizer, and volunteer. Serving on the core coalition for the Jefferson County Memorial Project and the board of the Greater Birmingham Arts Education Collaborative, T. Marie has combined her passion for the arts with her purpose of advocating for social change. Her most recent venture is Local Voices Network, a community-driven platform that shares the stories of those whose voices often go unheard.
