POSTPONED: Perspectives On Immigration: What's At Stake

Date:
Monday, April 2, 2018
Time:
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location:
Edlavitch DCJCC

The debate on immigration reform has persisted through several administrations, but recent current events have brought it up to the forefront once again. The national debate involves real people and their lives, however, and it is also not a new issue, as most Americans can trace their roots to one of the immigration waves in US history.

How does current public policy affect real people? What does Judaism say about the issue? And is today different from other times in US history when it comes to the immigration question?

Join us for an evening of conversation with Karina Velasco Lopez, a community organizer for CASA and a DREAMer herself; Professor Alan Kraut, preeminent historian and scholar of immigration history in America; and Rabbi Jonah Pesner, Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism to provide perspectives on the current situation.

Walk away with a deeper understanding of what's at stake, the real people touched by this issue, and how you can help.
